Network On The Go Through LinkedIn’s Mobile Site

By Karan Cushman, February 24, 2012

Meeting the needs of biotech professionals on the go, LinkedIn has redesigned their mobile experience to make it faster to network with researchers, investors and consumers alike.

Each day more people are using social media professionally and from their mobile devices. Mashable’s Alex Fitzpatrick wrote an article with helpful advice for using LinkedIn’s mobile site which encourages professional networking no matter where you are. Check out these essential tips below to help make the most of your LinkedIn mobile experience.

Share Links + Information with Specific Connections
Sharing an interesting article that you just read on your mobile device is easy with LinkedIn’s mobile site. On the upper right-hand corner there is a speech bubble that you can click on and immediately be directed to the update screen. This is where you can share the link with your contacts. There’s also an option to have control over which contacts view this update – maybe there is something very specific to potential investors that you’d like to share and not direct it to your entire network.

Easy Access to Updates
Open LinkedIn’s mobile site and you will see a list of updates from all your connections. As soon as you click into a shared article, you will be shown a short summary instead of being directed to the article itself. This saves you money if you are not on an unlimited data plan, as well as time and bandwidth if you decide the article isn’t worth loading.

Make New Connections Faster
Making new connections easier and faster. This mobile site takes users’ full-page profiles of employment and education information and summarizes them into condensed versions – saving you time and energy!

Stay Active Within Your Groups
Even while you’re on the go, you can still follow discussions of your favorite groups easily which are one of the most important features of Linked-In. Whether your interaction with with investors, researchers or consumers, adding your own comments and reading what others are discussing is simple and easy-to-access without having to go through multiple steps to get there.
